As our region and country begin the process of reopening, our Pastors and Elders have prepared a phased reopening plan that mirrors the strategy outlined by the government. We will start Phase 1 beginning on June 7, and hope to progress to the other stages every few weeks in accordance with the guidance from the CDC.

Join us starting Sunday, June 7 for in person worship services at 10:45am at the church building.

We will also offer a livestream of the service starting at 10:45am for those who are more comfortable worshiping from home.

  • We encourage everyone to make 10:45 AM for worship on Sunday a top priority. This will help to maintain consistency for Sunday worship for your family.

  • Please prepare a space in your home that will allow you to participate in worship via the live stream service without interruptions or distractions. Gather your Bibles and sit down together.

  • If you have family members that do not usually attend church, this may be a new opportunity to include them. Please feel free to invite them to join you in worship.

  • During the worship service, remain fully engaged, as much as possible, and participate by singing during praise, praying during prayer times, opening your Bible and taking notes during the sermon.

  • Prepare ahead of time to be ready to give your offering online. You can give online or by text by visiting northtrenholm.org/give. You may also give by bringing your offering to the church and placing it in the give boxes located around the church or by mailing it to 6515 N. Trenholm Rd. Columbia, SC 29206

  • After the worship service, take some time for personal reflection, decisions, and commitments. It may be a good time to remind your children that God loves us and will take care of us. Allow your family members to talk about the changes in our society and reassure them of God’s love and care.

When will in-person gatherings resume?

June 7th. While we expect our phased approach to open to line up with the phases that have been laid out by the government, everything hinges on the health of our community and the CDC’s recommendations.

We will only advance through these phases as Richland County meets the government’s benchmarks to continue reopening.

Will regular activities look different?

While we expect our in-person gatherings to feel the same when we reach Phase 3, like the rest of society, we expect that the way we interact with each other will look at little different for a while. We’re going to continue to modify the parts of our services that required physical contact before (such as passing offering plates, passing out Worship Guides and greeting each other with handshakes), and we’re doing everything we can to keep our facilities clean and safe.

If you see more face masks (and hand sanitizer), when we gather together again in-person, we hope it will feel like coming home.

What about regular yearly events?

In the near term, some of our events will gather as an online-only event, and some will still meet in-person (but look a little different this year). Winshape is a good example; while Winshape Camps for Communities will not be coming to our community this year, we are working with them as they plan and prepare a version of camp that will be delivered right to our campus! Our Student Summer Beach Camp is still on and its not too late to sign your 6-12 graders up!

How long until we can gather together ?

Our Phase 1 of reopening will offer an in-person worship service starting on June 7. We will also offer our service online here.
